ROB SCHUPPERT

12/23/72 – 1/21/97
Those dates will be forever burned in our minds. We would never have believed on December 23, 1972, that 24 years later we would be putting a dash and date of death behind his birthday. Those dates … the dash and LAST date still seem so unreal.
We like to focus on his dash – his dash in life. Rob’s dash is full. He enjoyed life to the very fullest. He looked at each day as if it were a gift. He worked hard; he played hard; he experienced true love; and he knew he was loved. Rob forever 24 years old.
Since the LAST date, our lives have changed so drastically. Rob's sister, Tiki, is married and has two children of her own, Jenna and Brodie. Al and I have moved. Cricket, our 13 ½ year-old Yorkie is now living with Rob.
Tiki made a comment after Brodie was born that she’s sad because Rob will never know her kids. Rob does know her kids. He watches all of us; he’s with us when we least expect it; and he’s with us when we need him. He’s with us in the sunshine; he’s with us in a gentle breeze; he’s with us in the candlelight.
So much pain...
so many tears...
So much love...
And the realization...
that love hurts. We love you Rob!
